How to replace a shower head. Replace your shower head. Do not use your fingers. If leaks occur wrap with thread seal tape and carefully tighten with an adjustable wrench until there are no leaks.
Inspect the old shower head. Turn on the water and check for leaks. Screw the fixed shower head replacement onto the shower arm in a clockwise direction and tighten.
Slide the new backing onto the shower arm and wrap the open end in tape. If you plan on only replacing the shower head then just remove the old shower head using the pliers or wrench. Prep the shower arm.
Then remove the old showerhead by turning it counter clockwise until it s off. Install your new shower head. Check the shower arm for a plastic seal that would have been left over from the old shower head.
Replacing a bathroom showerhead is usually as easy as unscrewing the old showerhead and screwing on the new one. Screw on your showerhead by hand until it s snug. Remember to apply the tape in a clockwise direction to avoid unwrapping it when you attach your shower head.
Wrap a cloth around the shower head and use the wrench to clamp down on its base. Remove the old shower head. However don t worry about turning off the water supply.
