What is the proper shower head height. Shower controls should be placed at a height 40 50 102 127 cm above the shower floor and out of direct line of the water path to avoid being caught in extremely cold or hot water when operating. Usually shower heads are installed at 72 inches high but installation at 76 inches from the shower drain is done in some homes based on the owner s preference.
The industry standard for the height of a shower head is 80 inches above the floor of the bath. A standard shower curtain is typically 72 inches long so the curtain rod should be installed around 75 to 77 inches from the floor. Shower heads are located at a standard height of 80 203 cm but can be set at a minimum height of 72 183 cm if desired.
This is 6 feet 8 inches which is suitable for most people of average height and even usable for those who are taller. Although this generally boils down to personal preference there is in fact a specific industry standard.
